Azhagiya Tamil Magan makes money

Quite appropriate to its name, Vijay's Azhagiya Tamil Magan's (ATM) has made enough money even before its release.

According to reports, producer Appachan has made enough money from the movie even before its release.

Buzz is that Azhagiya Tamil Magan has made a new record among Vijay films in terms of business.

It is said that Pyramid Saimira Theatres had brought the distribution rights of Azhagiya Tamil Magan for a whopping amount of Rs 25 crore.

With shooting is expected to complete soon, it is expected that the film would hit theatres on Deepavali. Directed by Bharathan, Azhagiya Tamil Magan has Shreya and Namitha opposite Vijay.

Azhagiya Tamil Magan controversy to end

Appachan, the producer of Azhagiya Tamil Magan (ATM), has agreed to pay a sum of Rs 6.5 lakh to one Mohammad Farookh, who filed a case claiming that the story of ATM belonged to his production house.

Farookh had filed case alleging that the story belonged to his production house and Appachan had agreed to pay Rs 7.5 lakh after the intervention of Tamil Film Producers Council. However Appachan had paid only Rs one lakh.

The case came up before Judges A P Shah and Jothymani. After assurance from Appachan to pay the remaining, the Judges posted the hearing to Wednesday and a final verdict is expected then.

ATM stars Vijay, Shriya and Namitha in lead role. It is directed by Bharathan.

• This film is set to release for Deepavali, November 8, 2007.
• Vijay is said to have sung for a rap song tuned by A.R.Rahman.
• Its the first time that Shriya and Namitha is paired with Vijay in this film.
• This is Bharathan's first film as director. He was the Dialogue writer for Vijay's previous movie Ghilli.

• Some fighting scenes were shot in Golconda Fort, Hyderabad.

Launch

The movie was officially launched on January 24, 2007 at AVM studios, Chennai. The launch was attended by a host of celebrities including the Vijay's wife Mrs. Sangeetha Vijay, heroines Shriya and Namitha, Vijay's father SA Chandrasekar, Directors Perarasu, Dharani, Ramana and actor Jayam Ravi, Sreeman and many others. The movie was launched with a small lamp lighting ceremony where the celebrities present lit a lamp to start the proceedings off auspiciously.

Producer Appachan has announced that the release of movie will be postponed from August 15 to Deepavali November 2007. The film's shooting started in February 2007 and will end in August.

Azhagiya Thamizh Magan (2007) (English:Handsome Tamil Son) is a forthcoming high budget Tamil film directed by Bharathan. Bharathan has previously worked with Vijay in Ghilli as both an Assistant Director and dialogue writer. This movie is creating great expectations as Vijay and AR Rahman are joining hands and it's Vijay's 45th movie.This will be the first movie with Vijay and Shriya. Shooting for the film has started from January 24, 2007 and the movie is expected to be a Deepavali release.
